Glossary of Terms

The symbol of Spirit for the Ophidians. Serpents were believed by the Ancients to be deathless, because they could renew themselves when old by shedding their skin. They believed that Serpents could see into the Spirit realm because of their pupils which are shaped like slits. And they believed that snakes come up out of the Underworld, the land from which they were born. See also Ophidians. See also Spirit.
