The Persona of a person or animal left on the material plane after death, which sometimes appears as a ghost or poltergeist. These Shades can be called forth like other spirits, but it should be kept in mind that they only know what they knew when they were alive, and nothing more. They also maintain all of their biases and beliefs from that life as well. Most do not seem to know that they have died. Adepts are capable of developing a more evolved type of Persona that works so closely with its Spirit that it becomes something more upon death, which we call a Genius, or in rare cases a Deified Genius. A Genius has more awareness than a Shade, and can continue the work of its Will beyond death. A Deified Genius becomes something even more.
