The
name of the current incarnation of the
Great Liberating Mother. Her symbols are the Star and the Snake.
The Star is the Seven Pointed
Star of Babalon, which is drawn differently than the Star of Venus. The Snake is a Cobra,
because the hood of the Cobra
has the mark of Her Mother Nuit.
Babalon is a Warrior Goddess,
a Goddess of Heka, a Liminal Point to the
Underworld, and a Goddess of
Ecstatic Liberation of the Spirit. She also appears in a throne
with lions or a chariot pulled by lions, and sometimes astride beasts like lions
or Serpents. The first historical
record of Her appearance in recent times can be found in the magical diaries of
Dr. John Dee (See Madimi and
M.D.M.I.). Her name in this incarnation
is a play upon the corrupted image of Her found in the Book of Revelation, when She ruled the
city of Babylon as the Goddess Ishtar (Innana, Astarte). Her Egyptian name is Hoor Pahket,
and is plainly visible in Liber Legis
for those that can see that "there is division hither homeward; there is a word
not known. Spelling is defunct; all is not aught." For a more in-depth analysis
of Babalon, please see "Who or what is Babalon?" For a more extensive
exposition of Babalon and
the History of the Great Liberating Mother,

and 3 of the Magickal Philosophy of Templum Babalonis.
